Green Beans
Extreme heat in Kenya is starting to damage production causing a shortage of beans.
At the moment prices are rising and are not showing any signs of slowing down.
If you are using beans please WATCH OUT - We will, of course, keep you informed if they become totally unaffordable quicklyUK Apples
Stored UK apples are starting to run dry as demand this year has been amazing in both our chef world but equally in retail as people across the land have been embracing our native fruiting trees.
We won't see the return of UK apples until Early September when we have something totally mind-boggling to share with everyone - We can't wait - Until then a switch to European fruit will be happening over the next few days...Spring Cabbage
This seasonal cabbage is at the moment imported causing concern as the heads are proving to be extremely expensive.
The UK crop is not just ready but it won't be long so hold tight - Savoy or Hispi maybe a good alternative
Brexit
The uncertainty around Brexit looms on as people are becoming increasingly nervous around the implications a no deal Brexit could have on our beloved land.
At this stage, we can only communicate we are working hard to plan for either situation, as news starts to emerge closer to the deadline we will be able to update you further.
Logistics back to the UK will most definitely bring the most prominent challenge which could be very much out of our control.
We are working extremely hard with our logistical department to plan/avoid limited effect if a situation arose. We will of course update with any news as we receive it...Mushroom
There has been a rise in all cultivated mushrooms due to rocketing prices for impregnated mushroom compost.
This rise is minimal but for those eagle-eyed, you may spot an increase. -(Just so you know)
