The Kilby family are third generation farmers who have been farming in Collingham Yorkshire since the 1960s, Wharfe Valley takes their name from the beautiful and extensive Wharfe Valley area within Yorkshire.

The local free draining fertile limestone soil on the farm produces a prolific rape crop from which the team produce the finest rapeseed oil in the north.

With its velvety and deep flavour profile, this is one of the best rapeseed oils but stop there!!

A few weeks ago you will have seen the local fields holding sights of radiating Golden Glows and most remarkable scent which the flowering rape fields bring.

The flowers are left to blossom and once the seeds start to form the crop is harvested and shaken to extract the valuable seed which is just about to happen!!!

We saw with the team yesterday and the harvester is ready for action they are just waiting for the exact right time for operation shake those seeds to commence.

Once shaken these little black numbers makes their way back to Wharfe Valley Farm where it's dried & pressed into amazing golden oil.
