Severn & Wye Smokery

Since 1989, the Severn and Wye Smokery is based in between the salmon rivers on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean. Initially, these guys started with two flagship products, the salmon and the eel and has grown over the years to provide a full range of smoked fish products!!

Over the years the smokery processing has moved to Westbury-On-Severn into a purpose-built plant and the original smokery was renovated to support their growth and in 2017, their shop has been relocated opposite the original smokery and consists of a fish market, gift shop, café and restaurant! Wow!

Richard Cook spent his childhood around the elvers, so we know he definitely knows his stuff!! The Severn & Wye have set up a range of different campaigns to help support the eels, from teaching children in schools about glass eels to an educational and restocking programme. As well as being a member of the Sustainable Eel group and being committed to sustainability through the use of a zero-carbon footprint, wind energy, reducing waste packaging and production waste. What an eco-friendly company, we love it...
