This time of year is critical for the most overused and often forgotten about crop we grow in the UK.
Potatoes are used on most things and over the years there is no doubt it has turned into a commodity crop that we all just expect to be available in good supply and quality at all times. We have been receiving a warning from potato growers across the land and also processes such as lamb Weston, latosa who produce vast volumes of product are also warning of the troublsome season ahead.
Early lifts of the crop are showing signs of lack of large graded potatoes which are used for bakers, chips etc and also reduced yields. Just take a look at the words flowing from Koffman’s
There isn't a shortage we have great relationships and everything is ok at the moment but please be warned as this coming 18/19 season could be extremely troublesome for our trusty tuber.
Hero Of The Week - **Holiday Inn Nottingham**
Now the dark skies are rolling in quicker than ever before we find ourselves in the wild in total darkness sometimes as we navigate our way around the woods on the hunt for inspiration. This week our social channels ignited just as we hurdled a walkers gate in total darkness. A nudge came from our extremely impressive friends at Holiday Inn Nottingham. Last week they embraced the wild season and got stuck into the wild mixed foraged mushrooms and as a treat sent us a picture of their truly seasonal creation. We selected this team for the passion they show to the season as they embrace mother nature and change their creations daily.
A Big Farewell
The time has come to stand tall and wave goodbye to the amazing Matt Horsfield who has spent the last ten years pouring 199% of his time into Harvey Nichols Manchester as he guided the establishment on a culinary journey.
Along the years Matt has been a true Delifresh warrior, and we thank you for the engagement on all our platforms and most of all the embracement you have given for the seasons.

Pizza Mania!!!
Wednesday 3rd October saw the final of the Casual dining magazines national pizza awards 2018. Finalists congregated at the Islington Metalworks, London where 15 of the country’s best pizzaiolos from Liverpool to London battled it out for the crown of National Pizza Chef of the year and National pizza of the year.
Chefs cooked live where they were judged by an esteemed panel of judges on their signature pizza, technical pizza and a mystery box of ingredients.
Tre Ciccio Altrincham’s very own resident pizza chef Luigi Marino entered his first competitive competition mentored by Chef director Francesco Scafuri with his signature pizza ‘Sud’ showcasing the best ingredients southern Italy has to offer to include Calabrian Nduja, Burrata & San Marzano tomatoes.
After a long hard-fought day, Tre Ciccio’s Luigi was crowned ‘National Pizza Chef of the Year 2018.’
Tre Ciccio only opened in February this year and with-it being Luigi’s first competitive competition the team are delighted with this accolade and are excited for the future especially considering the imminent new openings of Tre Ciccio Bramhall late October this year and Tre Ciccio Ramsbottom early 2019.
